Thorns played against the wind in the first half and were unlucky to turn around at half time 15 points to 3 down, just conceding a try on the point of half time. Thornbury worked hard in the second half and Liam Pemberton scored from close range to reduce the defecit with Elliot Kear converting from a difficult angle. With 60 minutes gone and several penalty chances going astray Thorns forced play deep into the Bassett half when, after good work by Joe Connolly and Jack Pearce, Anthony Fusimalohi forced his way over for a great try.The conversion was missed and the score was tied at 15 all. In the 65th minute, after great pressure from the Thornbury pack a penalty was awarded and Chris Lever stepped up and slotted the kick from 50 metres to secure the win.
